About the Role

This role is for someone who is genuinely energized by recordkeeping done correctly. You will build the systems that keep employers audit-ready before a government notice ever arrives, and you will be the person clients call the moment one does.

Key Responsibilities

Employer Compliance Programs

  • Build, audit, and maintain Labor Condition Application Public Access Files to Department of Labor standards, including wage documentation, notice postings, and actual wage memoranda.
  • Assemble and maintain PERM recruitment and audit files, ensuring documentation is complete, contemporaneous, and retained for the required period.
  • Conduct internal Form I-9 audits, identify and properly remediate errors, and advise on retention, reverification, and remote verification procedures.
  • Advise clients on E-Verify enrollment, case creation, tentative nonconfirmation handling, and photo-matching requirements.

Monitoring & Risk Prevention

  • Maintain compliance calendars covering LCA validity periods, status expirations, visa reciprocity, and recurring filing obligations.
  • Identify material changes such as job title, worksite location, wage level, corporate restructuring, merger, or successor-in-interest events, and escalate amendment triggers to the attorney team.
  • Advise on benching, wage payment obligations, and return-transportation requirements for terminated sponsored employees.
  • Build and maintain compliance dashboards and trackers in Docketwise, Zoho CRM, and Excel, and produce periodic client-facing compliance reports.

Audits, Investigations & Training

  • Support responses to ICE Notices of Inspection, DOL wage and hour investigations, USCIS FDNS site visits, and H-1B and PERM audits.
  • Draft compliance policies, HR handbook language, onboarding checklists, and internal escalation protocols for corporate clients.
  • Deliver training sessions and written guidance to client HR teams on I-9 completion, worksite change reporting, and sponsorship recordkeeping.
  • Prepare mock-audit findings and remediation plans, and track remediation to completion.

Qualifications

Required

  • Three or more years of experience in immigration compliance, employment compliance, or HR compliance, ideally supporting employer sponsorship programs.
  • Working knowledge of employer obligations under the Immigration and Nationality Act, including 20 CFR Part 655 Subparts H and I and 8 CFR 274a.
  • Hands-on Form I-9 administration and audit remediation experience, plus practical E-Verify experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain regulated records that survive outside scrutiny.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including building trackers, pivot views, and recurring reports.
  • Clear, professional written communication suitable for client-facing compliance memoranda.
  • Discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential personnel and immigration data.

Preferred

  • Prior experience inside a law firm, corporate mobility team, or immigration services provider.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Familiarity with the DOL FLAG system, iCERT legacy files, and USCIS case management portals.
  • Experience preparing organizations for or defending them through a government audit.
  • Bilingual in English and Russian, Ukrainian, or Spanish.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, legal studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional compliance experience. A paralegal certificate or foreign law degree is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: Starting Salary 70k
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Paid continuing education, bar dues, and professional association memberships (role-dependent).
  • Direct mentorship from the firm's partners and a clear path to increased responsibility.
